Sybil
In my psychology class we watched the movie, "Sybil." This movie made me very sad because no child or adult should ever have to go through what this girl did. She has several psychological disorders and was unable to function in society. She suffered from dissociative identity disorder due to the traumas had to endure as a child. As she was remembering her childhood to her therapist, it was concluded that she had 16 different personalities. All of these personalites had their own identity and emerged when she recalled different events of her life. This movie was really good and I really want to read the book.

This movie is definitely one to classify in the "unforgettable" category. Sybil's case is extremely rare and it's very fascinating to study because I could never imagine being in her shoes. It's actually really really sad, the things her mother did to her, clearly she also had psychological issues, because I couldn't imagine a human being so cruel if there weren't issues. Atleast she met that great therapist who helped her throughout the rest of her life, and although (in real life) Sybil was never actually cured, she did show a lot of improvement.
ReplyDeleteWow that sucks for her. But it does sound like it would be an amazing movie. You definately sparked my interests enough to watch it.
